I know that before I even listed my home for sale I checked on the availability of preschools in the new area I was moving to. I don't know if we would have waited until there was availability to move, but I do know it was a huge part of the moving process for my family as I'm sure it will be for yours. I fully support everything they have to offer; fun, friends, a little learning, a little time away from mom. I know that in California and especially in this area of Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood Shores, Redwood City, San Mateo and Foster City they are very competitive and waiting lists of a year or more are very common. For most schools you take a tour and then pay a waitlist fee and then wait for your name to come up.
